Nominations Open for Board of Directors
MANA is soliciting for members willing to run for office in the summer election. Positions open are President Elect, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and two District Director positions. You do not have to live in the district to which you would be elected. Too often candidates run uncontested. Competition enhances a vibrant organization. If you are willing to serve make that known to Ron Seligman (Current President Elect) who is assembling a slate of candidates.
ACLS Training Question
For many years MANA has offered one or more life support courses in conjunction with either the Spring or Fall meeting. We have had an ever decreasing enrollment and this year we have dropped it from the Fall Conference. We would like to know your thoughts about resuming one or more - PALS/NALs or ACLS Courses. We would also like to know if you would prefer to have that instead of, or in addition to, a full CE conference with a variety of speakers and topics. Do you need ACLS for your current employment? How do you get that certification? E-Mail your opinion to Ron Van Nest, Executive Director. The E-mail address can be found on the "MANA Officers" Tab to the left, at the bottom of that screen.
A Collaboration Issue Answer
This is to clarify some misinformation being asked of you by some Maryland hospitals. Fact: You are required to have a collaboration agreement on file with the Board of Nursing. But the Board DOES NOT send a letter back to you stating that your collaboration agreement has been approved. That is a requirement of Nurse Practitioners, but NOT of CRNAs. This point was clarified with Emmaline Woodson of the Advanced Practice section of the Board of Nursing on March 28, 2008 with Ron Van Nest, MANA Executive Director.
